Hap Ki Do is a powerful self-defense art. It is a revolving martial art with three combined principles: 1) to break your opponent’s spirit, 2) divert his power, and 3) reroute his path to follow your own. When performed properly, it can be as strong as an ocean whirlpool.
Hap Ki Do has evolved to encompass over 2000 years of Korean martial arts’ tradition. Its history is often misconstrued to be a new martial art or composed of many different styles as it embodies many different practices. The practices and philosophies of Hap Ki Do, are those of the original Korean martial arts and reach back to the beginning of the martial way. Over centuries of practice it has improved and evolved to adapt itself to the needs of the individual and although the name is contemporary, the art, history, and tradition of its practice are over two millennia old.
